Red Bull Flying Bach (Sept 3)


The Red Bull Flying Bach is definitely something you have not seen before and therefore a must-do for everyone who’s in Lugano during this time. See the world champion b-boy crew Flying Steps combine breakdance with Johann Sebastian Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier and experience how well classical music, electro and urban style go together. Sportissima 2017 (Sept 10)


Sportissima is an event for all sport and fitness enthusiasts and those who want to try something new. The thirteenth edition of Sportissima will bear the same motto as its previous editions - to encourage daily movement and nurturing. The best part about the event is that it’s free for all and features over 110 disciplines ranging from sports like football, basketball and badminton to activities like climbing, martial arts and pole dance. To attend you don’t need to sign up in advance. Simply talk to one of the staff members at the venue from 9:30 and onwards and enrol for the activities you want to try. Lugano Bike Emotions (Sept 22 - 24)

Watch some of the world’s best bicycle, e-bike and mountain bike athletes compete for the top position in the first edition of the Lugano Bike Emotions which is certainly going to be a thrilling event for bike enthusiasts. The event will be held as part of the Parco San Grato’s 60th anniversary and will feature several kinds of races which include the final leg of the Proffix Bike Cup where mountain bike athletes will start their three-day race from the city centre and go all the way to the Arbòstora woods. The event will also feature handbike racing for athletes with physical disability. For more information about the program, visit the official website of Lugano Bike Emotions: http://luganobe.ch/programma/


Fiera del Fumetto (Sept 22 - 24)

The Fiera del Fumetto returns to Lugano for the seventh time to celebrate the world of comics. During these days, the Palazzo dei Congressi will be filled with stands where you can admire and purchase comics and gadgets of all kinds. The headliner this year is DIABOLIK who has become a famous character in Italian comics since his creation in 1962. Expect to find yourself amongst notable personalities in Italian comics. Feel free to pick up any comic or manga from the shelf and read it, even if you are not buying anything. For more fun and entertainment, the event also hosts a track for ALL SLOT CARS and a Mario Kart 8 deluxe tournament. Entry is free for children up to 12 years. Adults pay a price of CHF 10.-. Festa d'Autunno (Sept 29 - Oct 1)

Welcome autumn with your friends and family while enjoying a glass of wine or two and trying fabulous local food at the Festa d’Autunno. You’ll find numerous stalls around the city centre where people can buy local dishes such as polenta, risotto and many other exquisite local delights. The festival attracts people of all ages with its wide range of culinary offerings, entertainers and artists. The city will be decorated with a riot of bright colours while local folklore music will be played. This event offers several activities and entertainment options for kids too.
